Ange's brain party Party!

Awesome Podcasts

  • 99% Invisible - really well-researched, well-told stories about design and architecture.
  • Sidedoor - interesting stories told by academics from the various departments of the Smithsonian.
  • Radiolab - a show from WNYC in New York about all sorts of topics. One of the best produced podcasts out there.
  • Reply All - a podcast about the internet. The weekly Yes Yes No segment explains something strange from the internet that "normal people" won't understand.
  • Science VS - former ABC show stolen by a podcast network in the US. Dives deep into topics that suffer from science denial.
  • Startalk Radio w/ Neil deGrasse Tyson - it's a talk show about space.
  • Stuff you should know / How Stuff Works - popular (award winning!) podcast that goes into how everyday things work.
  • Conversations - daily show from ABC Radio National in podcast form! Currently on hiatus, but there's a whole backlog to listen to.

Epic Youtube Channels

  • Primitive Technologies - every weekend an accountant in Queensland takes his clothes off and lives off the land, making primative tools and shelters using only natural materials.
  • Minute Physics (& Earth!) - cool physics and other sweet science explained in fun ways.
  • Hydraulic Press Channel - everyday items being destroyed by a crazy russian guy with a (really large) hydraulic press.
  • Vox Media - well produced short videos on current affairs, science and pop culture.
  • Simone Giertz - lives on a boat and makes fun robots that sometimes work.
  • Vi Hart - makes great videos about maths. Watch the hexaflexagons video.
  • Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell - if you're ever in the mood for a fun cartoon about how the world could end. Self-described as "optimistic nihilism".
  • Jun's Kitchen (Jun is a cat) - guy in Japan rides his bike to the store and cooks with his cat. More fun than it sounds.
  • Grand Illusions - amazing collection of one man's random magic curiosities.
  • Wendover Productions - interesting facts about the world. Make sure you watch the Every Country in the World videos.
Merry Christmas Ange! xoxo Bonnie & Brenton
